With 40 (of 43) copper plates out of text, many of which folded, missing the n. 32, 40 and 43, slight gora of water in the upper part, light browning and blooms, some small spots, binding in full leather with gilded titles within a red gusset on the back with 5 nerves, slight defects. & Nbsp;

For the value of his artifacts, Louis XIV conferred on Nicholas Bion (1652-1733) the position of royal builder of mathematical instruments. Merchant of globes and armillary spheres, in his laboratory in Paris the skilled craftsman conceived and created mathematical, astronomical and nautical measuring instruments with experience and ingenuity. He was highly appreciated not only for the accuracy of execution but also for his lucky treatises containing explanatory illustrations and instructions for using the instruments
