Amsterdam, E. van Harrevelt; D.J. Changuion, 1773. In 4th. With 47 (of 48) hand-colored geographical maps numbered from 1 to 40 (with 8 bis cards) of which numerous are double-page, missing the n. 28 Paraguay, small restoration to paper 26b, paper 40 partially detached, slight marginal blooms, very small woodworm hole in the lower white margin of a few papers, coeval binding in cardboard, abrasions and defects, partially detached back plate. Ex libris on the counterplate, partially cut signature of belonging to the title page.

Beautiful portable atlas intended as an accompaniment to the famous Histoire philosophique et politique [...] published by the author for the first time in Amsterdam in 1770. The collected papers, with cartouche in French and caption in Dutch, predate the publication of 'atlas, many in fact date back to the 1940s and 1950s, for example: the Canary Islands in 1746, Western Tartary in 1749, the Maldives in 1752. & nbsp;
