With 93 (of 94) numbered plates outside the text of which 7 folded, numbered I-XXIV, I-XXXV, I-XVI, I-IX (missing the IX " Picturae antiquae in aedibus Marchionis de Maximis "), headers and large engraved initials, some water gore and light browning, white lower edge of some worn papers, coeval parchment binding with title imprinted in gold within a 6-pin spine, some stains on the plates, worn edges , three compartments of the back partially detached. Ancient hand notations on the guard card.

Second edition published in Latin (the first edition in Latin is from 1738). With texts he antiquarians de La Chausse (1655 ca.- 1724) and Giovanni Pietro Bellori (1613 -1696) and the engravings of Bartoli, it represents an important source for the knowledge of the wall decorations of the Roman period. & Nbsp;
