Cologne, press Pietro Martello, 1721. In-folio. Late 18th-century full parchment binding, with five-ribbed spine, blind-stamped frame on the covers, and gilt titles on the spine; title in the half-title framed within a beautiful full-page copperplate engraving with the coats of arms of And. Matth. Wolfgang (Andreas Matthaus Wolgang, 1660-1736), engraved frontispiece with a portrait of the author within a medallion engraved by Pfeffel, double medallion on the title page with a portrait of the author and the motto "Così quaggiù si gode", title page in red and black lettering, a double plate outside the text with a finely copper-engraved Medici family tree, numerous headpieces, large initials, and woodcut tailpieces, all of great value. Ownership indication on the title page (round blue ink stamp with coat of arms and the inscription: "ex libris Antonii de Summo"). Presence of browning and some foxing, slight marginal damp halo on a few leaves, loose first leaves, small woodworm holes on four leaves not affecting the text, damaged lower headband, slight slippage towards the outside of the central leaves, around pp. 350-400, due to loose binding.
