First edition of this scholarly text, in Italian, Hebrew, and Greek, on Hebrew poetry and archaic Greek oesia. The work focuses on linguistic and metrical uses in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek poetry. Some Hebrew paragraphs have been inserted into the text. Between 1716 and 1718, it was placed on the Index for treating the Bible as a profane book.

A member of the Conservative Party, he served as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Great Britain from 28 January 1770 to 22 March 1782. He led Britain through most of the American Revolutionary War. He also held a number of other cabinet positions, including Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer.
