Specialist Notes

Each volume, except the last, opens with a copperplate frontispiece and contains countless plates, often folded, depicting images of natural science, technical instruments, naval art, etc. Fifth edition of this important, richly illustrated, "ante litteram" encyclopedia, an Italian translation of a famous French work by Pluche.
