Specialist Notes

Second edition of the first of three fundamental treatises on analytical mathematics. With his Introduction to Mathematical Analysis, Euler laid the foundations of modern analysis, assuming for this discipline an importance comparable to that of Euclid for ancient geometry. In this volume, he organically develops the principles of algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry, defines logarithms as exponents, and offers significant insights into the theory of equations.
