Specialist Notes

One of the pioneers of homeopathy in Italy, Dr. Francesco Talianini (Trevi, May 21, 1776 – October 13, 1857) was the first to introduce it to the Papal States. Talianini approached homeopathy by studying the Materia Medica Pura and the Organon in the translations of Romans and Quaranta. In 1826, during a stay in Naples, he came into contact with leading figures in the homeopathic movement and, convinced of the efficacy of Hahnemann's method, was the first to introduce it to the Papal States. His treatments achieved exceptional results, including the healing of the Marchioness Vittoria Mosca of Pesaro and that of Pope Leo XIII. For his services, the Vatican awarded him a gold medal and consulted him several times. In 1830, he accompanied Prince Doria Pamphili to England, where he achieved great success and academic recognition.
