Specialist Notes
Rare edition. Francesco Saverio Salfi (1759–1832) was a man of letters and politician. After fleeing Naples in 1794 due to disagreements with the Church, he spent a significant period in Brescia, where he contributed to the political newspaper "Termometro politico della Lombardia." During his stay in the city, he consolidated his republican and Enlightenment ideas, also participating in Freemasonry and contributing to the dissemination of patriotic writings.
