Specialist Notes
A rare and extremely important testimony to the insurrectionary administration established in the Brescian Republic (March 18 - November 20, 1797). The Republic marked a crucial moment of civil and patriotic self-determination: a symbol of the libertarian aspiration against Austrian rule, it was among the first examples of self-government inspired by revolutionary principles and anticipated the Italian Risorgimento uprisings.
