In-8°; Hardback binding in full parchment with three raised bands (with traces of light, restored defects and colored in green), edges colored in green, title handwritten on the lower edge; fully illustrated title page in black and white with a framed title, historiated initials, woodcut headpieces, and numerous clear engravings of medals in the text. Old abrasion on the title page due to the removal of an old handwritten ownership indication under the title, without affecting the text; small tear on the frontispiece, without losses; work in good condition.

Interesting and uncommon example . Work by Sebastiano Erizzo (1525-1585, man of letters, philosopher, senator, born and died in Venice), edited by Girolamo Ruscelli (whose name appears in the preface and dedication to the Polish sovereign Sigismund Augustus, dated 4 March 1559); enlarged issue of the second edition of 1568, to which were added, by the same A.: The declarations of the ancient consular coins, struck in the years of the Roman Republic. Cfr. Gamba (1380): "This book is the first to make an epoch in the science of numismatics, the subject of which was treated by Erizzo more extensively than that which had been done before him by Enea Vico...".
