In Rome, by Bartolomeo Grassi (In Rome, by Iacomo Ruffinello) 1591. In 4°. Beautiful engraved architectural title page, water stains on the first leaves with a stain affecting leaves A3 to E, slightly trimmed at the top margin, missing, as usual, the folded map of the city of Paris replaced in facsimile, contemporary full limp parchment binding with handwritten title on the spine, stains on the boards, defects and restorations on the spine. Handwritten ownership note on the title page.

Grassi, 1591) dedicated to Pope Gregory XIV, he analysed the political and military situation of the two opposing camps, described the city (strong on the knowledge gained from his previous stays) and set out the attempts at a political solution; he personally participated in a meeting with Henry of Navarre to dissuade him from the siege."
