Elegant round character with indented initials, some notes in an old hand in the margins, missing title page and geographical map, index cards placed at the end of which 3 are original and the remaining ones missing and replaced with handwritten cards, restorations, traces of humidity and reddening, rear binding in marbled paper, defects.

A RARE FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE OLDEST STORIES OF BRESCIA. The work was first printed in this edition and was so rare that it fetched up to thirty florins. It was later translated and republished under the title "Della Storia Bresciana di M.Elia Cavrioli lib. XII, fatti volgari dal MRD Patrizio Spini, Bresciano Canon. Regolare di San Salvatore e ab. di Candiana e aggiungi al dopo il Cavriolo quanto è segue up to the year 1585 e ancora aggiunto al altro libri di Cavriolo". Our copy is incomplete.
