Refined volume/brochure representing NAVIGAZIONE GENERALE ITALIANA (NGI) , for the transatlantic liner ROMA

On the cover, a relief medallion in silver-plated sheet metal (alpaca), applied, depicting the Goddess ROMA, a classical Roman face. The ROMA was a 33,000-ton four-propeller turbine, as reported on the central pages with illustrations. Facsimile of an original letter from the Duce (" While the ship with the fateful and immortal name ... omitted ... must navigate - Rome 24 February 1926 - Mussolini ")
Photographic images of the rooms and halls, with textual descriptions.
Complete with 36 pages plus covers, measures approximately 250x280mm, in excellent condition


Navigazione Generale Italiana was founded in 1881 from the merger of Florio of Palermo and Rubattino of Genoa, becoming the main shipping company of the Kingdom of Italy.
It operated the Mediterranean and transoceanic routes (Americas, Asia, Africa) until its merger with other entities into Italia Trasporti Marittimi (Italia Line) in 1932.
