7.5" round rifled barrel (visible rifling, bore with deposits to clean, possibly some pitting), bearing remnants of standard New York markings. Breech with small fixed sight. Cal. .44 rimfire. Six-shot cylinder with traces of naval battle scenes and patent markings. Frame stamped with 1871 and 1872 patents. Army size grip. Iron bands. Matching serial number "16xx" on barrel, frame, cylinder (partially stamped), and grip bands. Barrel wedge unnumbered; cylinder pin with different number (assembly mark?). Wooden grip, likely of later production. Slight traces of original bluing in various areas, probably antique. Working mechanism; working safety lock. Interesting.
