6", octagonal, 31 cal. barrel, with traces of dorsal mark no longer legible (probably Sam.l Colt engraved by hand, only the "S" legible). Bore needs cleaning encrustations, probably with pitting, visible rifling. Six-shot cylinder, only one outline is visible and traces of a mark. Working mechanism. Frame with "COLTS PATENT" mark. Brass gripstraps. Grip with walnut grip scales (one side tends to open). The revolver is decorated with scrolls at the base of the barrel, on the frame and with segments on the gripstraps. Remains of engravings also on the sides of the cock. The back of the grip with beautiful shell decoration. Full or abbreviated coeval serial numbers "462xx" on the barrel, cartridge rammer, frame and pin, cylinder and gripstraps. On the underside the serial numbers have a dot above or below them. Some remains of silvering on the grip. Signs of use and time. Slight missing part at the cock. Average to poor condition. In an antique but probably not pertinent wooden case. On the lid, shield with inscription "W.N. Marral". Inside green cloth scabbard. Instruction sheet (detached) for Colt revolver, and some accessories including a flask and bullet mold.
