Smoothbore, round, 450 cal. barrels (clean bores), made of browning damask, signed "CHARLES LANCASTER 151 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" and "PATENT SMOOTH BORE. BREECHLOADING RIFLE"; the rib with the base for a scope, rear sight with three sight leaves, foresight. Under the barrel marked "450”, “CL”, two marks of the London test bench and matching serial number “53xx”. Tang finely engraved with spirals. Backward spring lock marked "C. LANCASTER LONDON PATENT"; provided with unusual cock and safety lock. Briarwood butt and fore-end, checkered hand support and grip. Iron mounts decorated en suite. Lower lever. Trigger guard with serial number.
