A substantial miscellaneous volume containing various works, 295 x 205 mm.: Reasonings concerning the Tribunal of the Inquisition in which it is methodically demonstrated with what reason the Honored Neapolitan Citizens have always opposed attempts ... to introduce the said Tribunal into the City and Kingdom - Considerations through which the Justice of the Letters ... of the Catholic King Charles III is demonstrated which establish that in Causes pertaining to Religion, proceedings must be carried out ... by the Ordinaries, and through the Ordinary Way - A brief collection of various information against the Operations and prejudices resulting from the alleged and never known Tribunal of the Holy Office - Reflections on the oppositions made against the Metropolitan Curia of Naples for the Trials of some Inquisitors in matters of Faith . At the end of the volume, two loose printed sheets dated 1746 and 1747, again relating to the Tribunal of the Inquisition. Contemporary binding in brown half leather and marbled cardboard, red and green spray edges.
