Frontispiece engraved in copper by Francesco Sesone, title page in red and black, with 38 leaves of folded and numbered plates, light foxing, contemporary bindings in full hard parchment, gilt title on the smooth spine, red spray edges, minor defects.

A rare first Neapolitan edition of this celebrated medical text by the founder of scientific surgery in Germany. Considered the most widely used manual of practical surgery of the 18th century, it was translated into major European languages.
