Venice, Donato Bertello, 1572. Copper engraving mm. 390 x 546 cartouche on the lower left with text in Latin, present watermark, central fold, some slight foxing, lacks at the corners, on the reverse reinforcement along the lower margin and two small central reinforcements, small hole.

Beautiful and rare view of the Battle of Lepanto, fought on 7 October 1571 between the fleet of the Holy League and the Ottoman one engraved by Martin Rota (Sibenik c.ca 1520-Vienna 1583) (inventor) but impressed by Donato Bertelli in 1572 in Venice.
