Information
pencil, ink and collage on thin cardboard
35 x 25 cm
Original comic art made by Magnus for "Tutti gli uomini della legge" featured in Act III of I Briganti on page 41 and first published in the Orient Express comics in 1988. This work accompanied the Bolognese master throughout most of his career, from 1973 until his death, ensuring that the graphic style changed over time, following his stylistic evolution. Inspired by a 13th-century Chinese novel, Magnus developed the story in a science fiction manner: he drew inspiration from Flash Gordon and Saturn Against the Earth, moving from the future Middle Ages to spaceships, in an exotic, fairy-tale setting he mixed realistic and technological elements, uniting East and West. Note the rare absence of corrections, often used by Magnus.
