Original comic art made by Magnus for "Governanti e rivali" (Rulers and Rivals), featured in Act IV of I Briganti (The Brigands), page 19, and first published in episodes in Comic Art magazine in 1989. This work accompanied the Bolognese master throughout most of his career, from 1973 until his death, ensuring that the graphic style changed over time, following his stylistic evolution. Inspired by a 13th-century Chinese novel, Magnus develops the story in a science fiction manner: inspired by Flash Gordon and Saturn vs. Earth, he moves from the future Middle Ages to spaceships, in an exotic, fairy-tale setting he mixes realistic and technological elements, uniting East and West.
