Ogival skull worked in one piece, ribbed at the centre, the top worked in a separate element, fixed by a plaque from the inside. Cusped brim and nape-guard, with swallowtailed edge, roped and twisted border. With a row of rivets featuring thick rosettes at the base of the skull. Plume-holder at the back. Complete with its movable cheeks with rosette-shaped open-work. Provided with the rare buffe with neckguard plate, beaver and two foldaway ventail plates, the upper one with a raised band (slightly deformed) and eye-slots. The dorsal border roped en suite with the helmet. In antique patina, probably with remains of the original black dye. A very interesting item. It is extremely difficult to find this type of helmet complete with its original buffe.
