dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: Bavaria, Grand Prior's tail coat made of embroidered white silk decorated with silvered thread, with sequins in floral motifs and lozenges in the colours of Bavaria made of blue velvet and silver sequins. Interior lined in white silk. Remains of a blue label in the collar. Lower border with long fringes in gilded threads. Five missing buttons. Very small defects in the silk. Complete with white silk trousers (broken on one leg, on the knee). Complete with buttons and back buckling. (Length: 80 cm). The Royal Order of St. George for the Defense of the Immaculate Conception was founded by the elector Maximilian II Emmanuel of Bavaria in 1726. Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria (he was the first Bavarian king from 1806) promoted the Order of St. George to the second place after the Order of St. Hubert. height 102 cm.
