dating: 1850 provenance: Naples, Smoothbore, octagonal, 17 mm cal. barrel, signed 'S. MEROLLA', with foresight; long, engraved tang with sight. Elegant backward spring lock signed 'S. MEROLLA', engraved with floral motifs and with outlined edge. Three-quarter stock with checkered grip, enlarged oval pommel and yellow metal mounts engraved en suite. Horn ramrod with brass and iron cartridge extractor.
