dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Hachi with twenty-four ken suji (blades) and two tataki-nuri gilded leather (?) segments with black splashes at the front and at the back, above three stave hilts (shino-dare). The top with an unusual, high Hachimannza. Seven-plated, Hineno-style, iron shikoro with tetsu-sabi-iro-nuri lacquer. Small fukigaeschi. Rabbit-shaped maedate of modern era. Complete with its original scabbard and shinobi no o. The kabuto is provided with a Nihon Bugu-Kacchu Hozon-Kennkyu-kai certificate with 'Kicho-Shiryo' (excellent) rating. Middle Edo period, 18th century. height 37 cm.
