Information
dating: machi Period (1392-1573) provenance: Japan, Hirazukuri-iorimune. Nagasa (length 37.7 cm), hada: itame mokume, hamon: midare togari (zona itatsura) tobiaki, horimono: futatsuhi ken with double habaki in gilded metal. Nakago gimei: Bitchu No Kuni Sukehira Sadatsugu, two mekugi-ana. Beautiful koshirae with yamagane tsuba, mokko-gata, taka-zogan in gilded shakudo depicting figures and floral motifs, kaku-mimi-koniku. Fuchi-kashira with niku-bori in gold, silver and shakudo. Menuki decorated en suite. Saya in lacquered wood with horizontal bands in two colours. Kozuka-mei with gold and blackened shakudo grip, niku-bori depicting a lobster. Late Muromachi era. length 54.5 cm.
