dating: machi Period (1392-1573) provenance: Japan, Sugata: torii zori. Nagasa (length 45.2 cm), hada: fine itame mix mokume; hamon: itame gunome mini ko nie; boshi: sugu. Bronze habaki. Nakago mumei with a mekugi-ana. Fine koshirae with iron tsuba, tate-maru-gata, gold and silver niku-bori depicting floral motifs; kozuka and kogai hitsu-ana, the kogai with ategane, kaku-mimi-koniku. Important fuchi-kashira in shakudo, taka-niku-bori made of gold and silver with birds and floral motifs, mei: Ishi Guro Masa Yoshi Saku. Blackened menuki, gold niku-bori. Brown tsuka with small defects and missing parts. Saya in black lacquered wood with thin, horizontal, red bands (small missing parts). Kozuka mei with brass grip, niku-bori in gold, silver and copper with bird and floral motifs. Complete with certificate of T.K.K. 1973 with attribution to Kane Tsune province Mino. length 63.5 cm.
