dating: 17th/18th Century provenance: Ottoman Empire, A set consisting of a quiver containing three short javelins. The javelins have wooden shafts and are provided with a long iron cusp of square section and with hollow sides, the handles covered with silver with rings at the ends. Wooden scabbard covered with leather sewn with wire and with iron mounts. Two suspension rings, one band with restorations. A rare hunting and war arm used throughout the East for centuries, mainly for hunting. These little javelins were perfectly balanced and could be hurled with great precision.
