dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Papal States, Wide, two-edged blade, slightly ribbed in the middle, on one side the motto 'VIVA IL VALORE ROMANO' and on the other side 'LIBERTA' E FORZA.' One-piece bronze hilt with straight-quillon guard featuring oak leaves and acorns in bas-relief, twisted grip and pommel with large eagle's head. Without scabbard. length 72.3 cm.
