dating: 1875 provenance: Papal States, The left medallion made of gilded silver, presented in two halves within a case (glued), with Pio IX's bust with cap, mozzetta and stole in relief with inscription 'HIC EST SUCCESSOR S. PETRI CAPUT ECCLES CATHOLIC'. Below the signature 'F. LANGMANN'; the other medallion with papal coat of arms of PIO IX, below the signature 'C. STROBEL EDIT' and 'Déposer', (small pitting on the right side). Leather case with the gold PIO IX coat of arms, lined with silk and burgundy velvet (slightly damaged above the hinge). Inside a cardboard box with papal coat of arms and hand-written 'Par la Federation artistiche de Paris - A Son Altesse Royale Monseigneur le Prince Eugene de Savoie-Caridnan Turin'. Provenance: Prince Eugene of Savoy-Carignano (1831-1888). diameter 6.9 cm.
