Information
dating: about 1810 provenance: Edinburgh, Round, smoothbore, turn-off, 12 mm cal. barrels, engraved at the nozzle; oval frames signed 'W.m Mc.Lauchlan' and, on the other side, 'Edinburgh' engraved with fine trophies, marks of the test bench and foldaway trigger. Upper hammer with safety lock. Checkered wooden butts, embossed silver butt-plates shaped as a lion's head. Lozenge-shaped, silver shield on the back. In an antique wooden box covered in burgundy cloth and labeled by James Bryce / Edinburgh complete with various tools and key. William McLauchlan was documented in Edinburgh from 1806 to 1847.
