Round, rifled barrel, with foresight, with missing rear sight, marked "V", "P", an eagle's head, and another “P”. 11, 8 mm cal. (.46) at the nozzle. Clean bore with visible rifling; some areas with pitting. Central fire folding bolt. The model inscription has almost completely faded; only “US MODEL ...” is legible. Tang with remains of the old serial number “112541” (a second serial number is present, stamped later on the side of the barrel). Working mechanism, but with signs of wear, needs revision. Lock with remains of the “U.S. SPRINGFIELD” mark; the eagle is still visible. Walnut, half stock with an old repair on the back. Iron mounts. Butt plate with an arsenal modification (addition of a tubular compartment) and marked “US.” Pitting, signs of use and time.
