20"round, rifled, 44. rimfire cal. barrel (clean bore and visible rifling), marked with two-line address and patent inscription “KING'S IMPROVEMENT,” provided with foldaway rear sight and foresight. Brass frame; serial number “136xxx” on the lower tang, under the lever; inside, number “733,” probably an assembly number. Butt and fore-end of walnut wood with brass mounts; the butt with repair on the back of the grip. Sling swivel. Butt-plate with gate. Working mechanism. Rare and in good condition. Probably an old repair at the base of the lower tang of the frame and at the tip of the upper tang. Complete with the rare three-section detachable ramrod.
