Cylindrical, rifled barrel, provided with foresight and a fixed rear sight with two folding leaves (marked “200” and “300,” respectively), featuring the marking "R.B. RODDA & CO. / GUN MAKERS BY APPOINTMENT TO HIS EXCELLENCY THE VICEROY / LONDON & CALCUTTA“. Breech with reinforcement ring and caliber marking ”REGULATION 577 BOXER". 14.9 mm cal. at the nozzle. Clean bore with visible rifling, some signs of use and time inside. Folding bolt with Snider patent marking, an “S” mark pierced by an arrow, marks of the London test bench, and bolt block with central firing pin. Working mechanism. Forward spring lock marked with “R.B. RODDA & Co.” Outlines on cock, bolt and lock plate. Half stock of walnut wood (briarwood?) with straight grip and checkered segments (one crack on the grip and a small missing part on the fore-end side). Iron mounts. Pitting on the metal parts, especially on the butt-plate. Signs of use and time. Remains of old browning.
