Cusp-shaped, double-edged balde, ribbed in the centre, upward-curving wings, small beak-shaped lugs at the base. Ferrule shaped as a truncatedcone but of octagonal section with a knot at the top. Provided with two perpendicular, brass rests (probably added during restoration). Straps not visible (covered by fabric). On a cylindrical wooden shaft of much later manufacture with an iron shoe and upper segment covered with red cloth and tassel. Typical command insignia for officers and non-commissioned officers of the early modern era.
