length 90 cm.
Curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with fuller, and back groove. Gilded brass hilt, rhomboid-shaped langets decorated with rays, curled parry quillon and shaped head. Guard with radiating decoration. Long cap with the same decoration. Horn grip without wire binding. Leather scabbard with brass mounts, cap and chape decorated with rays, the latter also with floral motifs. Two lugs.

Specialist Notes

Published in "Storia dell'arma bianca Italiana" by Cesare Calamandrei, Florence, 1999, page 425, with illustration. A beautiful sabre from the time of the Restoration, probably belonging to an officer of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
