dimensions 71 x 60 cm.
Elegant frame in dark wood, enriched with medallions and decorations in white metal. The upper medallion depicts the general's coat of arms beneath a count's crown, flanked by a branch and a flag. The side medallions display the year of birth “1821” and the date of death “7. DICEMBRE 1884”, the latter placed beneath a cross. Below is a depiction of a steam-powered warship. The corners are decorated with rosettes, linked by scrollwork. Probably used as a display frame for orders or similar items.

Specialist Notes

The Count entered the Naval Academy of Genoa in 1836 and took part in the campaigns of 1848–49 and 1860–61. He was awarded the Silver Medal for Military Valour and the Military Order of Savoy. Promoted to Rear Admiral in 1868 and Vice Admiral in 1879, he
