Hira-zukuri blade, Iori-mune (Nagasa 24 cm). Visible Hamon and Hada. Nakago with a Mekugi-ana. Mumei. Habaki with silver foil coating. In 19th-century koshirae with iron Tsuba with seaweed carvings. Fuchi and Kashira, made of burnished copper, inlaid with Shippu (cloisonné) motif, the former with a grained background, the latter smooth. Tsuka with Samè in stingray leather. Tsuka-ito in black fabric (later?). Menuki in copper depicting Kakuni-uzura (quail on a basket). Saya with an unusual vermilion lacquer coating called “Isokusa-nuri,” depicting a motif of seaweed floating in the sea, a very laborious lacquering technique. Sageo in moss-green fabric. Edo period.
