The document, dated 1785, bears the signatures of Garter Principal King of Arms Sir Isaac Heard and Clarenceux King of Arms Sir Thomas Lock, recording the grant of arms to John and James Utterson and their descendants. Two pendant seals in protective cases, attached with a pink ribbon, are provided with the document. Housed in a wooden case covered in brown leather with gilt tooling; small signs of use and time.
