length 64.5 cm.
Long smoothbore 16 mm cal barrel with flat back, with semi-elliptical fuller and decorated with engraved mask, the edges of the fuller and the two short side bands are brass inlais. Short tang outlined at the edges. Flintlock with slightly rounded plate signed ‘Berthon Bourlier et Fils Aîné’ and below the hammer ‘a St. Etienne’, the tang with a flower, the base of the hammer featuring floral motifs, the batterie spring with anti-friction roller. Beautiful wooden full stock, carved with floral motifs behind the tang and around the trigger guard, and geometric motifs on the barrel; small repairs to the front. The iron elements show some rust damage. Beautiful silver mounts, counterplate carved with floral scrolls, with palmettes and face within an elliptical medallion, pronounced and tapered cock, decorated with trophies, floral and geometric motifs. The trigger is also made of silver. On the back of the stock is a silver shield featuring a crescent moon. Iron ramrod with shaped tip and short cartridge extractor.
