Matteo Pessina (Monza, 21 April 1997) is an Italian footballer, midfielder for Monza, of which he is captain, and of the Italian national team, with which he became European champion in 2021. Called up for the first time by coach Roberto Mancini, he made his debut in the senior national team on 11 November 2020, at the age of 23. On 28 May 2021 he scored his first goals for the national team, scoring a brace in the 7-0 friendly match against San Marino in Cagliari.
