Jordi Alba (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, 21 March 1989) is a Spanish footballer, defender and captain of the Spanish national team, with which he won the European championship in 2012. Considered one of the best full-backs of his generation, he was born in football in Barcelona, where he remained until he was sixteen, when he was sent on loan to Cornellà. Given his excellent performances, he was noticed by Valencia who, at the age of eighteen, bought him from Barcelona. On 28 June 2012 he officially returned to Barcelona where he won, among other things, 6 Spanish championships and the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League. On 24 May 2023 he announced his farewell to the Blaugrana club after 11 years and 19 trophies.
