Javier Alejandro Mascherano (San Lorenzo, 8 June 1984) is a former Argentine footballer, who played as a defender or midfielder. Considered one of the strongest footballers of his generation, during his career with the clubs he won two Argentine championships (Clasistenza 2003 and Clausura 2004), a Brazilian championship (2005), four Spanish championships with the shirt ofBarcelona (2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2014-2015, 2015-2016), three Spanish Cups (2011-2012, 2014-2015, 2015-2016), three Spanish Super Cups (2011, 2013, 2016), two UEFA Champions League (2010-2011, 2014-2015), two UEFA Super Cups (2011, 2015) and two FIFA Club World Cups (2011, 2015). From 2003 to 2018 he wore the shirt of the Argentine national team 147 times, placing himself in second place among the players with the most appearances in the white and blue national team, he also participated in four World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018) and five America's Cups (2005, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2016).
