Adam West (Walla Walla, 19 September 1928 – Los Angeles, 9 June 2017) was an American actor who made history above all for having played the character of Batman in the American television series of the sixties, alongside Burt Ward in the role of his young sidekick Robin. The series was broadcast on ABC from 1966 to 1968 for a total of 120 episodes divided into three seasons. The character's first feature film, Batman: The Movie, was based on the TV series in 1966.
