Information
The lower section is adorned with medallions joined by bows depicting Saint George and the Dragon and the imperial double-headed eagle. The hinged, pierced lid, surmounted by a crown, conceals a surprise miniature of Saint George and the Dragon on a sky-blue guilloché enamel base. It bears the hallmarks of the silversmith and the assayer ‘A.C.’, probably Aggey Grigoryvich Svechin, 1872, 84 zolotniki, Moscow.
