Daily comic strip from January 28, 1936, for "Secret Agent X-9." Created in 1934 in response to the overwhelming success of Dick Tracy, "Secret Agent X-9" was entrusted by publisher William Randolph Hearst to twenty-four-year-old Alex Raymond. After just two years, Raymond was replaced by Flanders. This is a rare strip from the series' eighth story cycle, "The Phantom Plane," the first in which Flanders took over the helm. Signed and dated.
