Specialist Notes
This is the first and only edition of this study on the sports practiced in the Vesuvian area in antiquity. This authentic treatise on the sports of Naples represents a significant monograph, enriched with philological annotations and historical-critical analyses, on the gymnastic practices of antiquity and on bullfighting, also known as "Corrida," which took place in the amphitheater of Pozzuoli.
