Beautiful copper-engraved frontispiece by Pierre Brebiette depicting a naval battle, a volcanic eruption, city views and, on the sides, Charles of Anjou and Robert Guiscard, 12 copper-engraved portraits in the text, light browning, some light water stains, small restorations on the first quire, contemporary leather binding, double-fillet frame on the boards, 5-ribbed spine, gilt friezes and titles on the compartments, peeling, minor defects.
