The dedicatee's coat of arms on the title page, skillful and ancient restoration on the upper margin of the title page, foxing and browning, contemporary parchment binding, blue edges, gilt title within a tag on the spine, some minor defects. Ownership signature on the inside cover.
Specialist Notes
RARE. First edition of this historical account, of which only the first part was published; the second remained unpublished. It is effectively an Instant Book, as the dedication is dated November 20, 1647, and Masaniello's revolution had broken out and ended tragically in July of that year.
